C.A. "Buddy" Carver

Mr. C. A. “Buddy” Carver, age 77, of Broxton passed away early Monday morning, August 6, 2018, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, following a short illness. He was born October 21, 1940 to the late Alfred “Alf” Carver and the late Velma Young Carver. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by: 4 Brothers, J. T. Carver, Milton Carver, Vernon Carver and Donnie Carver, 2 Sisters, Wilma Spivey and Oda Morgan. Mr. Carver, a native of Ambrose, Coffee County, owned and operated a Heating and Air Conditioning Service in the Douglas Area for many years. He loved his family, wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he also enjoyed riding horses, fishing and deer hunting. Survivors include his Wife of 57 Years: Brenda Lashley Carver of Broxton, GA. 2 Daughters: Twanda Ricketson and her husband Jimmy of Douglas, GA, and Theresa Henderson and her husband Stacy of Broxton, GA. Special Son: Jay Loria of Jacksonville, FL. Grandchildren: Preston J. Loria of Jacksonville, FL, Jarad & Tiffany Ricketson, Justin & Candace Bracewell, Landon & Jacy Henderson and Taaler Henderson all of Broxton, GA Marenda & Jonathan Benson of Woodstock, GA and Courtney Henderson of Ambrose, GA Great Grandchildren: Remi Kate & Judson Creed Ricketson and Maggie Bracewell all of Broxton, GA Everett Carver Benson of Woodstock, GA. 3 Sisters: Nadine Lawson of Huntsville, AL, Grace Collins and her husband Russell of Douglas, GA and Geneva Sprouse of Callahan, FL Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of Friends. The funeral service was held Thursday morning, August 9, 2018, at 11:00 A. M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. George C. Paulk officiating. The Interment followed in Griffin Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Justin Bracewell, Landon Henderson, Jarad Ricketson, Doug Pridgen, George Boyd, Ross Merritt, Jonathan Benson and Harrison Cady. Members of the Congregation served as Honorary Pallbearers. Special Musical Selections, “We Thought He Walked on Water” presented by Randy Travis by CD Music, “Just Like Them Wild Horses” presented by Reba McIntyre by CD Music and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” was presented by Justin Moore by CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
