Willie Franklin Anderson Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Willie Franklin Anderson, Sr., age 86, of Nicholls passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born June 25, 1927 to the late Willie F. Anderson and the late Lera Taft Anderson. Mr. Anderson, a native of Atkinson County, had owned and operated the Willie Anderson Transmission Shop for the past 28 years. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Anderson, 2 sisters, Willene Hawkins, and Leola Deen, and a brother, David Anderson. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: His Wife of 61 years, Yvonne Sapp Anderson of Nicholls,Ga.; 2 Sons: Willie Franklin Anderson, Jr., and wife Judy of Hazlehurst, Ga.; Andy Anderson of Nicholls, Ga.; 2 Half-Sisters: Charlene Prescott, and Lera Bell Merritt both of Douglas,Ga;. 3 Grandchildren: Jason Anderson of Ambrose, Ga., Ashley Anderson of Hazlehurst, Ga., and Andy Jaydin “Jo” Anderson of Nicholls, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Graveside Services and Interment were held Tuesday morning, April 22, 2014, at 11:00 A. M., at the Douglas City Cemetery, with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. Active Pallbearers were: Norman Hawkins, Stacey Adams, Ashley Anderson, Jason Anderson, Karl Willard, and Dennis Willard. Special Musical Selections, “It Is Well With My Soul”, was presented a cappella by the Soloist, Rev. Britt Peavy, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, was presented by the Soloist, Shanda Jowers, with CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
