Viannah Murray Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Viannah Carver Murray, age 90, of Nicholls passed away Monday morning, May 4, 2015, at the Baptist Village Nursing Center in Waycross, following an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1925 to the late Calvin Carver and the late Emma Davis Carver. Mrs. Murray, a native of Coffee County, was a Homemaker. She enjoyed being with her family, cooking, and working in her flower garden. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Harland Murray, Sr., 4 Sons, Harland Murray, Jr., Richard Duane Murray, Daryl Stanley Murray, and Dale Murray, 1 Brother, Buster Carver, and 5 Grandchilden, Clifton Bryce Murray, Randy Murray, Wade Murray, Shala Gail Spivey and Scott Warren Smith. Mrs. Murray had attended the Dry Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: 5 Daughters: Sandra Nelson of St. Simons, Ga., Pam Smith of Ambrose, Ga., Gail Murray, and Scarlett Griffin, both of Nicholls, Ga., and Denise Burkett of West Green, Ga. 3 Sons: George Albert Murray of Forsyth, Ga., Terry Murray, and Chester Murray, both of Nicholls, Ga.; 1 Sister: Hazel Worth of Douglas, Ga.; Several Grandchildren, and a number of Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 2:00 P. M., at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. H. P. Murray officiating. The Interment followed in the Jowers Chapel Cemetery, in Atkinson County. Active Pallbearers were: Ray Turner, Josh Murray, Tim Adams, Cameron Boyd, Chad Herrin, and Jason Smith. Special Musical Selections, “Beulah Land”, was presented by the Soloist, Rev. Howard Holt, with Bonnie Musgrove, at the Piano, and “Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone”, was presented by the Soloist, Rev. Howard Holt, with CD Music, and “Wind Beneath My Wings”, was rendered by CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Bonnie Musgrove. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
