August 10, 1961 - February 8, 2019
Mr. Roger Miles Burkett, age 57 of Douglas, was called to his heavenly home suddenly on Friday, February 8, 2019. Mr. Burkett was born in Douglas on August 10, 1961 to Loretta Gray Burkett and the late Roger Hamilton Burkett. Miles was a loving, friendly, outgoing, generous and hard-working man. He was currently employed at G and S Griffis Farms in Odum, GA as a truck driver. He loved being on the road with his wife Patsy by his side. He and his wife Patsy were also the owners of Cherished Blessings Photography. Their love for special family and friends inspired their business name because each one was considered to be a cherished blessing to Miles and Patsy. Miles never met a stranger; he was comfortable talking to anyone. His vast knowledge and work experience were so broad that he could discuss so many things-especially his favorites, 18-wheelers and photography. He gave to help others and considered his giving as the right thing to do. Miles demonstrated a commendable work ethic. He believed in rising early and working late to make sure his job was completed for the day. He considered Douglas Christian Fellowship Church of God as his home church. Miles' life was an example of what he believed in his heart. Those who are fortunate enough to have had him as a family member or dear friend have been blessed beyond measure.
