Richard Ronnie McCoy Sr.

January 8, 1954 - September 26, 2014

Mr. Richard Ronnie "Rick” McCoy, Sr., age, 60 of Douglas, passed away Friday evening, September 26, 2014, at the Satilla Hospice in Waycross, following an extended illness. Mr. McCoy was born January 8, 1954 to the late Willard A. McCoy and the late Pauline Griffin McCoy. Mr. McCoy, a native of Homerville, had lived in the Coffee County area for many years. He was the owner and operator of McCoy Heavy Equipment Company. He raised and cared for horses. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee McCoy and a sister, Joyce Elaine Lomax. Mr. McCoy was a member of the Salem Holiness Baptist Church. Survivors include His Wife: Linda Corbitt McCoy of Douglas, GA.; 2 Sons: Richard Ronnie McCoy, Jr. and Jason Ray McCoy both of Douglas, GA; 2 Brothers: Paul McCoy of Homerville, GA., and James Edward McCoy of Savannah, GA; 2 Sisters: Darnell Register of DuPont, GA., and Mary Ruthaleen Smart of Alma, GA; 2 Grandchildren: Charity Leann McCoy and Rylee Grace McCoy, both of Douglas, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, Uncles, Aunts, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2014, at 4:00 P.M. at Salem Holiness Baptist Church, with Rev. Tommy Greene and Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiating. The interment followed in the Salem Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Mark McCoy, Mikey McCoy, Andrew Register, Kevin Bennett, and David Bennett. Special Musical Selections, "Amazing Grace / My Chains Are Gone", "Precious Memories", and "Go Rest High On That Mountain", were presented by Anita Strickland and Dianne Chambless of the Heart To Heart Group, with Dianne Chambless, on the Guitar. "Pre-Lude" and "Post-Lude" soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Karen Batten. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
