Mrs. Norma Kay Vickers Dockery, age 68, of Broxton passed away late Tuesday night, November 29, 2016 at Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL following an short illness. Mrs. Dockery was born February 25, 1948 to the late Grady Vickers and the late Bertha White Vickers. Mrs. Dockery, a native of Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, had lived in the Broxton area for many years. She was a Librarian at the Public Library. She was preceded in death by a Brother, Ronald Vickers. Mrs. Dockery was a member of the Broxton Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her Husband of 49 years, John William “J. W.” Dockery of Broxton, GA; 3 Children, Jennifer (Richard) McDonald of Homerville, GA, Norman (Shantae) Dockery and Amelia (Joel) Auger both of Broxton, GA; 2 Brothers, Donald Vickers of Bridgetown, GA and J. O. Vickers of Tifton, GA; 2 Sisters, Beverly Duncan of Jacksonville, FL and Judy Vickers of Ambrose, GA; 9 Grandchildren, Alyssa (R. J.) Lago of Louisville, Kentucky and Alysson McDonald of Homerville, GA, Emma Grace Auger, William Auger, Callie Dockery and Anna Dockery all of Broxton, GA, Melanie McAnn of Valdosta, GA and Jessica Limon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Friday, December 2, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Clements, Rev. Den Weniger and Rev. Derek Herlocker officiating. The interment followed in Reedy Branch Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Don Harrell, David Davis, Randy Cliett, Bryson Lott, John Harrison, Brad Dockery, Donald Eason and Phillip Acorn. Honorary Pallbearers were: Classmates of 1966 and Ladies of Broxton Baptist Church. Special Musical Selections, “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” were presented by the Soloist, Marlon Smith, with CD Music. “It Is Well With My Soul,” was presented as a Congregational Hymn, led by Dr. Gary Clements, with Rev. Den Weniger, on the Key Board, and Mrs. Evelyn Weniger, at the Organ and ”Amazing Grace,” was presented by a Daughter, Amelia Auger, with Taped CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Organist, Mrs. Evelyn Weniger.
