John Wayne Peterson

January 16, 1955 - October 20, 2019

Mr. John Wayne Peterson, age 64 of Broxton, passed away Sunday night, October 20, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Peterson was born January 16, 1955 to the late Thomas Daniel Peterson and the late Nadine Walker Peterson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Mary Elizabeth Sumner. Mr. Peterson, a native of Coffee County, was the former owner/operator of Coffee County Catfish House, Inc. He enjoyed the many years he served the public their favorite seafood and steak dinners. He loved his customers and he loved to cook. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Peterson was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: His wife: Beverly Sears Peterson of Broxton, GA 2 Children: Kendra Lynn Kight of Byron, GA Dr. Justin Wayne Peterson and wife Meredith of Broxton, GA 1 Brother: Tommy Peterson of New York 1 Grandson: Hiram Peterson of Broxton, GA 1 Grandson coming soon: Jesse Wayne Peterson Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of friends The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, October 24, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating and Brother Robbie Guthrie presenting a eulogy. The interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery in Atkinson County. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, October 24, 2019 from 1:00 P. M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.
