Mr. John McDowell, age 75, of Douglas passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. McDowell was born July 8, 1942 to the late Clarence McDowell and the late Lillian Desoto McDowell. Mr. McDowell, a native of Aububon, New Jersey, retired from PCC while working in the Wax Room. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran. Mr. McDowell was a Lutheran by Faith. Survivors include: Daughters: Angel McDowell of New Jersey; Tina (Scott) Scarborough of Milan, GA Vivian Smith, Glendora (Wayne) Harper and Peggy Willis, all of Douglas, GA. 10 Grandchildren A Number of Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of Friends. The funeral service was held Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 3:00 P. M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. An Opening Prayer was given by Rev. Donnie Kirkland. The Interment followed in Salem Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: James Herrington, Eric Herrington, Ron Lott, Shannon Harper, Will Scarborough and Dreton Scarborough. Special Musical Selections, “So Long For Now”, “He Leads Me Each Step Of The Way” and “Amazing Grace” were rendered by CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
