Mr. Jimmy Dale Wooten, age 71 of Nicholls, GA passed Tuesday afternoon, June 18, 2019 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Wooten was born April 23, 1948 to the late John E. Wooten and the late Mary Emma Highsmith Wooten. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter, Krystal Wooten Wynn, 2 Brothers, Kenneth Wooten and Johnny Wooten, 1 Sister-In-Law, Virginia Wooten and 1 Grandchild Gregory “Bubba” Harrell, Jr. Mr. Wooten was a native of Ben Hill County but he grew up in Pierce County. He was retired from CSX Railroad, as a machinist, where he had worked for 28 years. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran from the Vietnam Era. He attended West Ward Church of God. Survivors include: His Wife of 36 Years: Diane Hill Wooten of Nicholls, GA 2 Children: Kathy Susan Faircloth of Jesup, GA; Greg Harrell and wife Tina of Heflin, AL 6 Grandchildren: Abbie Blake McBee and husband Luke of Jesup, GA Emma Faircloth of Statesboro, GA ; Jarrett Faircloth of Ashville, NC Paris Wynn of Jesup, GA ; Diona Williams and husband Chris of Jacksonville, FL and Andrew Harrell of Huntsville, AL 2 Great Grandchildren: McKenna McBee of Jesup, GA and Gregory Williams of Jacksonville, FL A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service was held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. at West Ward Church of God with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. The interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery. Military Honors, including the Flag Detail and Bugler were furnished by personnel from the Fort Stewart Army Base of Hinesville, GA Active Pallbearers were: Kevis Bennett, Kenny Smith, Henry Strickland, Greg Stevenson, Randy Wilkerson and Wallace Boatright. Members of the Harmony Sunday School Class served as Honorary Pallbearers. Special Musical Selections, ”Down to the River to Pray”, “I’ll Fly Away” and “He Was Weary” were rendered by CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude were soft hymns rendered by CD music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
