Mrs. Jessie Lee Adams Anderson Smith, age 82, of Douglas passed away early Wednesday morning, June 3, 2015, at the home of her daughter, Peggy White, in Glenwood, Georgia, following an extended illness. She was born March 5, 1933 to the late Charlton Adams and the late Estelle Nipper Adams. Mrs. Smith, a native of Coffee County, was a former employee of Coca Cola Bottling Company. She had worked at the Waycross, Ga., Brunswick, Ga., and Jacksonville, Florida plants. She was also preceded in death by Husbands, Carl Anderson, and Luther Bell, 2 Brothers, L. C. Adams, Jr., and J. D. Adams, and 4 Sisters, Ruth Adams, Gertrude Adams, Louise Kirkland, and Deborah Trowell. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her Children: Willis Anderson and Billy Griffith both of Valdosta, GA, Lewis (Nicki) Anderson of Waverly, GA , Peggy (Larry) White of Glenwood, GA, and Linda (William) Selph of Broxton, GA; 2 Brothers: Nathaniel (Diane) Adams of Jesup, GA and John (Janice) Adams of Brunswick, GA; 9 Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 11:00 A. M., at the Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church, with Rev. Rob Merritt officiating. Eulogies were given by her children, Lewis Anderson, Willis Anderson, and Peggy White. The Interment followed in the Chatterton Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Lewis Anderson, Jr., Larry White, Dylan Selph, Javan Anderson, Don Adams, and Billy Griffith. Honorary Pallbearers were Men and Women of the Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church, as well as the Congregation. Special Musical Selections, “He’ll Hold To My Hand”, was presented by CD Music, “No One Can Wear My Robe”, was presented by the Soloist Bro. Tommy Phillips, with Ruth Jones, at the Piano, “Jesus Is Precious”, was presented by Betty Long and Kay Spires, with Ruth Jones, at the Piano. and “Who Am I”, was presented by Faye Adams, with Bonnie Musgrove, at the Piano. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Bonnie Musgrove. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
