Mr. Jerry Wendell “PeeWee” Willis, age 81 of Douglas, passed away early Sunday morning, February 17, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mr. Willis was born November 10, 1937 to the late Oscar Willis and the late Mae Dupree Willis. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Huggins Willis, 1 Daughter, Wendy Darlene Bozeman, and 2 Brothers, Bobby Willis and Randy Willis. Mr. Willis was a native of Poulan, Worth County, GA . He retired after a long career as a supervisor with Coats and Clark. He was a member of Worth County Lions Club and Poulan Baptist Church. Mr. Willis was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Leisha Willis Burke and husband Billy of Broxton, GA 1 Sister: Garland White and husband Hollis of Americas, GA 1 Grandson: Clint Bozeman and wife Heidi of Lafayette, LA 4 Granddaughters: Haley B. Thornton and husband Caleb of Nicholls, GA Brandy Burke Gray and husband Chris of Douglas, GA Chelsee Carver and husband Dewayne of Broxton, GA Lauren Burke of Broxton, GA 3 Great Grand Children: Reanna and Reagan Given of Douglas, GA Josie Lynn Bozeman of Lafayette, LA 2 Caregivers: Shirley Merritt and Courtney Kirkland of Douglas, GA Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service was held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 3:30 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Mrs. Glenda Lang officiating. Eulogies were given by Clint Bozeman, Leisha Burke and Haley Thornton. The interment followed at Poulan City Cemetery in Poulan, GA Active Pallbearers were: Warren Nelms, Austin Burke, Elliott Burke, Drew Burke, Dalton Burkett, Dillon Burkett and Cameron Joyce. Honorary Pallbearers were employees of Coats and Clark. Special Musical Selections, “Jealous of the Angels”, “Amazing Grace” and “Dancing in the Sky” were rendered by CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
