Jeff Carroll McNatt

October 28, 1938 - February 25, 2017

Mr. Jeff Carroll “J.C.” McNatt, age 78 of Douglas, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, February 25, 2017 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. McNatt was born October 28, 1938 to the late Jefferson McNatt and the late Annie Foreman McNatt. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Burnell Rowland McNatt, 2 Brothers, Willie McNatt and Burnell McNatt; and one sister. Louise Smith. J. C., a native of Lax, GA, had lived a remarkable life, one that inspired his family and friends greatly. His humble attitude, constant unwavering love, helpful hand and happy demeanor made him a wonderful person to know. J. C. had a great love of fishing, gardening, family history and photography. He was a retired employee of G. T. E. Telephone Company and of the Maintenance Department of the Coffee County School System. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and he was also a devoted member of Burkett Baptist Church. Survivors include: His Wife, Iris L. Colson McNatt of Douglas, GA Children: Ricky (Teresa) McNatt of Douglas, GA, Rhonda (Michael) Purvis of Douglas, GA Sharon (Mark) Vickers of Ambrose, GA and Joey Byrd of West Green, GA 2 Brothers: Charles McNatt of Boston, GA and Frank (Sandra) McNatt of Louisiana 3 Sisters: Joann (Frank) Gaskin of Alapaha, GA, Joyce Irons of Brookfield, GA and Helen (Bobby) Farmer of Ty Ty, GA 7 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a Host of Friends Funeral Services were held Monday, February 27, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at West Ward Church of God with Rev. Joe Lee officiating. A Special Eulogy was given by a granddaughter, Erica Kobee. Mr. Phil McDevitt played Bagpipe music as the family entered and exited the church. The interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Britt Peavy conducting the committal service and Rev. Joe Lee giving the closing prayer. Mr. Phil McDevitt furnished Bagpipe music at the close of the committal service. Active Pallbearers were: Ryan McNatt, Cajah Vickers, Robby Kobee, Wayne Thomas, Raymond Herrin and Randy Moore. Special Musical Selections, “Thank You Lord, For Your Blessings on Me” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” were presented by the Soloist, Dennis Hursey, with CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
