Rev. James Jackson Moore, age 88, of Willacoochee passed away Friday evening, August 19, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born September 5, 1927 to the late William McKinley Moore and the late Annie Rice Moore. Rev. Moore, a native of Berrien County, had been a minister in the Holiness Baptist Association for 50 years. During his ministry, he had ministered at several churches throughout South Georgia. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict; however he was stationed in Germany. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his church family. He was also preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Rosa Rowe and Hattie Tyson, 6 Brothers, Shelton Moore, T. W. Moore, Aaron Moore, Bennie Moore, Charles Moore and Amos Moore. Rev. Moore was a member of Willacoochee Holiness Baptist Church. Survivors include: His Wife: Frances Rudine Soles Moore of Willacoochee, Ga.; 6 Children: Marilyn Martin of Nashville, Ga.; James Lamar “Marty” (Margie) Moore and Lisa (Allen) Cater, all of Willacoochee, Ga.; Daryl Moore of Tifton, Ga.; Gay Ann Hodge of Enigma, Ga. and Wendell (Melissa) Moore of Douglas, Ga.; 22 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Monday, August 22, 2016, at 3:00 P. M., at the Holiness Baptist Campground with Rev. David Rowe, Rev. Chris Martin and Rev. Russell Joiner officiating. The Interment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Harold Barnes conducting the committal services. Active Pallbearers were: Greg Soles, Mike Paulk, Carlton Paulk, Mike Spriggs, Jason Hunkapillar and Ricky McDowell. Special Musical Selections, “I Want To Know How It Feels” was rendered by the Soloist and Pianist, Amber McDowell, “Victory In Jesus”, “Blessed Jesus Hold My Hand” and “Amazing Grace” were presented by the Choir, led by Derick Soles, and accompanied by the Pianist, Wendy Spikes and the Guitarist, Brandon Musgrove, “More than Anything” was presented by CD Music of Lee Ann McMillan, Gay Ann Hodge, and Derick Soles. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
