Irma Lee Morgan

December 3, 1928 - July 22, 2014

Mrs. Irma Lee Varnedore Morgan, age 85, of Uvalda, formerly of Coffee County, passed away Tuesday evening, July 22, 2014, at the Serenity Place in Dublin, Ga., following an extended illness. Mrs. Morgan was born December 3, 1928 to the late James I. Varnedore and the late Idelle Hutson Varnedore. Mrs. Morgan, a homemaker and a native of Coffee County, had lived in the Uvalda area for many years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hiram "Pete" Morgan, and a sister, Betty Knowles Arnold. Mrs. Morgan was of the Holiness Baptist Faith. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Jean (Brian) Arnold of Uvalda, Ga.; 1 Grandson: Matt (Cindy) Corbitt of Uvalda, Ga.; 2 Great Grandsons: McKenley Corbitt, and Mason Corbitt, both of Uvalda, Ga.; 2 Sisters: Bonita (Rev. Edison) Taft , and Barbara Rowell, all of Douglas, Ga.; 1 Brother: Carl (Mary) Varnedore of Warner Robins, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Friday, July 25, 2014, at 2:00 P. M., at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Kyle Taft and Rev. Edison Taft officiating, and a Special Eulogy was given by her grandson, Matt Corbitt. The Interment followed in the Tanner Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Johnny Burkett, Chad Burkett, McKenley Corbitt, Mason Corbitt, Ashley Knowles, Joe Knowles, Terry Lynn Burkett, and Sherry Carroll. Special Musical Selections, "LIFE'S RAILWAY TO HEAVEN", was presented by Kelsea Taft and Kaitlyn Taft, with Kelsea Taft with the Guitar, Kaitlyn Taft with the Banjo, Rev. Kyle Taft with the Guitar, and Rev. Edison Taft with the Manodlyn. "Pre-Lude" and "Post-Lude" was rendered by Patty Spivey, at the Piano. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
