Gregory Neil Maye

November 3, 1973 - April 13, 2022

Mr. Gregory Neil Maye, age 48 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his residence. Greg was born November 3, 1973 to Norma Jean Ricketson Maye and the late Richard W. Thornton. Greg was a member of Covenant Christian Church of Douglas and he was actively involved with AA. He managed New Hope Recovery Center and was fully devoted to helping others reclaim their freedom from addictions. Greg's favorite scripture was 1 Corinthians 13:1 which states truly helping others must be motivated by love. He was a gift to this world for his love of animals, people and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include: Mother: Norma Jean Ricketson Maye of Nicholls, GA 1 Brother: Joe Allen Maye of Nicholls, GA 1 Aunt: Joann Ricketson of Acworth GA His Many friends with AA. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins The graveside service and interment will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Reedy Branch Cemetery near Broxton with Rev. Gregory Pope officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Ricketson Funeral Home to help deter the expense of the funeral. Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
