Mr. Frazier Nathaniel Porter, age 83, of West Green passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 13, 2017, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, in Savannah, following a brief illness. He was born March 17, 1934 to the late Andrew Jackson “A. J.” Porter and the late Mary Devera Tomlinson Porter. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Bernard Porter and Linwood Porter and 2 Sisters, Bernestine Culpepper and Carolyn Porter. Mr. Porter, a native of Cairo GA, retired after 23 years of service with the Coca Cola Company of Douglas. Later he retired after 10 years of service with Inter-Metro in the Welding Department. Mr. Porter was a U. S. Army Veteran. Mr. Porter was a member of the West Green Church of God. Survivors include: His Wife: Hiawatha Courson Porter of West Green, GA. 1 Daughter: Nancy (Kim) Phillips of Douglas, GA. 2 Sons: Larry Nathan Porter and Michael Andrew Porter, both of West Green, GA. 4 Sisters: Lavenier Harrell of Austin, Texas; Betty Lewis of Enigma, GA; Mary (Alton) Corbett of Jennings, FLA and Martha Miller of Ocala, FLA. 4 Grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) Phillips of Nashville, TN ; Nathan Porter of West Green, GA; Stephen (Mahalie) Porter and Miranda Porter, both of Douglas, GA. 5 Great-Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a Host of Friends. The funeral service was held Friday, June 16, 2017, at 11:00 A. M. at West Green Church of God with Rev. Charles Blair and Rev. Hugh Anderson officiating. Special Eulogies were given by Larry Porter, Nancy Phillips and Christopher Phillips. The Interment followed in Lone Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Stephen Porter, Nathan Porter, Dave Roberson, Jason Vaughn, LaDon Porter, Keith Weeks, Andrew Weeks and Glenn Harper. Honorary Pallbearers were: Senior Adult Sunday School Class of West Green Church of God, Keith & Ellen Phillips, Ken & Sandra Hursey, Howard & Rhonda Henderson and Former Pastors of West Green Church of God. Special Musical Selections, “Amazing Grace” and “When We All Get to Heaven” were presented as Congregational Hymns, led by the Pianist Christopher Phillips and The Lord Is My Best Friend”, was presented by the Pianist, Christopher Phillips. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Christopher Phillips. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
