Anselma Gomez

Mrs. Anselma Capetillo Gomez, age 76, of Nicholls, passed away early Sunday morning, October 30, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born April 21, 1940 to the late Merced Capetillo and the late Tiburcia Molina. Mrs. Gomez, a native of Palonito, Durango, Mexico, had lived and worked in the farming area in the New Forest Community in Coffee County for the past 30 years. She was preceded in death by 1 Son, Javier Gomez. Mrs. Gomez was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Survivors include: Her Husband, Jose G. Gomez, Sr. of Nicholls, GA; Her Children, Jose G. Gomez, Jr. of Ft. Meade, Florida, Maria L. Patricio of Nicholls, GA, Jorge Gomez of Douglas, GA, Laura Morales of Nicholls, GA, Patricia Ramirez of Douglas, GA and Maria Gomez of Nicholls, GA; Sisters, Ramona Rodriguez of Frost Proof, Florida, Francisca Malibran of Brownsville, Texas, Lamberto Capetillo of Dallas, Texas, Maximino Capetillo of Brownsville, Texas and Bertha Capetillo of Douglas, GA; 22 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 12:00 Noon, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, with Father Paul O’Connell and Father Daniel O’Connell officiating. The 1st Reading was presented by Laura Morales and the 2nd Reading was given by Amador Mendoza. A Special Eulogy was given by a Sister, Bertha Capetillo. The Interment followed in the Central Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Librio Saavadra, Eric Costel, Jorge Gomez, Jr., Manuel Gonzalez, Leo Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriquez and Jose Rodriguez. Special Musical Selections, “Song Of Farwell,” “Shepherd Me O God,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “Pescador de Hombres,” and “Amazing Grace” were led by the Soloist, Joe Lee.
