Wanda Stone

Mrs. Wanda Adams Stone, age 63, of Douglas, GA, passed away Sunday morning, January 4, 2015, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born September 21, 1951 to the late John Quincey Adams and the late Nell Ellis Adams. Mrs. Stone, a native of Coffee County, was a Homemaker. She was a retired educator and a Paraprofessional with the Coffee County School System. She held a Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. She was a longtime contributor for The Enterprise, providing news from around the Satilla Community, updates on her kids and beloved grandkids, and family recipes at times. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Mrs. Stone was an active member of the New Tanner Baptist Church; however, she attended and was faithful to various churches where her husband, Rev. Larry Stone, was pastoring. Survivors include: Her Husband: Rev. Larry Stone of Douglas, GA; 1 Son: Keith Lawrence (Kim) Stone of Douglas, GA; 2 Daughters: Kimberly Lynn (Terry) Tatum of Douglas, GA, Karen Leslie (Matt) Eldridge of Douglas, GA; 4 Brothers: Woodrow Adams of Hinesville, GA., John Wendell Adams of Jonesboro, GA, Kenny Adams and Randy Adams, both of Douglas, GA; 2 Sisters: Frances Woods and Cleo Chaney, both of Douglas, GA; 9 Grandchildren: Ryan Stone, Emily Stone, Lacey Stone, Tara Tatum, Tyler Tatum, Tori Tatum, Trace Tatum, Adlyn Eldridge and Aiden Eldridge all of Douglas, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Rocky Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Fussell and Rev. Jimmy Futch officiating. A Special Poem was written and presented by a grandson, Tyler Tatum. The interment followed in the Tanner Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Darren Joiner, Jeff Joiner, Kyle Stone, Kevin Adams, Kelly Chaney, Jason Cribb, and Marty Adams. Special Musical Selections, "I'm A Winner Either Way", was presented by the Soloist, Randy Adams, with Taped CD Music, "Stroll Over Heaven", was presented by the Soloist and Guitarist, Richard Wilson, and "You Raised Me Up", was rendered by the Soloist, Linda Johnson, with CD Music. "Pre-Lude" and "Post-Lude" soft hymns were rendered by CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
