Verneal Hall Grantham

Ms. Verneal Hall Grantham, age 74 of Broxton, GA passed away early Sunday morning, May 5, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Ms. Grantham was born October 17, 1944 to the late Elmon Hall and the late Wilma Lucille Wright Hall. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister, Marie B. Courson, 2 Brothers, Bobby L. Batten and Joe Ben Batten, 1 Brother-In-Law, Ralph Courson and 1 Sister-In-Law, Mary Ruth Batten. Ms. Grantham, a native of Douglas, was a homemaker and a member of Broxton Church of God, where she was the Pianist for many years. Survivors include: 2 Children: Kevin Grantham and wife Donna of Broxton, GA Pam Melton and husband Johnny of Blackshear, GA 5 Grandchildren: Dustin Williams and wife Kellyn of Broxton, GA Casey Norris of Blackshear, GA Kelly Grantham and Fiancée’ Colby Herrin of Douglas, GA Jennifer Jowers and husband Justin of Denton, GA Tiffany McKinnon and husband Brian of Douglas, GA 7 Great Grandchildren: Braylen Williams and Zayden Williams both of Broxton, GA Jax Jowers and Jimma Jowers both of Denton, GA Joseph Norris of Blackshear, GA Tanner McKinnon and Tucker McKinnon both of Douglas, GA 2 Brothers: James “Punkin” Hall and wife Candie of Douglas, GA and Ronnie Hall of Pearson, GA 2 Sisters: LaRue Wright and husband Johnny of Douglas, GA and Debra Hall of Pearson, GA Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of Friends The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Broxton Church of God with Rev. Joey Copeland and Bro. Marlon Smith officiating. The interment followed in Tanner Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Shane Hall, Zachery Hall, Steve Hall, Jordan Peavy, Scott Harkleroad and Keith Wright. Special Musical Selections, “I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before” was presented by CD of Verneal Grantham, Clyde Harper and Denise Craft, “Whisper Sweet Peace To Me” was presented by the Soloist, Ted Burke, with CD Music. At the Grave, “Vacation” was presented a cappella by the Soloist, Bro. Marlon Smith. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
