Timothy Satterfield Suttles

A Tribute to Timothy Satterfield Suttles 1955 -- 2013 Timothy Satterfield Suttles (Tim), 58, of Danny Kirkland Road, Nicholls, died at his home on December 10th, 2013. Tim was born in Elberton, Georgia on July 7th, 1955. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert T. Suttles. Tim leaves many, many friends. Tim was a Coffee High graduate of the class of '73, and a graduate of Valdosta State College with a degree in marketing. Tim began his business career as a teenager working at Western Auto. He was a certified EMT and worked at Coffee Regional Hospital as a young man. Tim also taught school for a time at Westgreen Elementary. Tim spent the majority of his career as a division manager and national sales manager for Elixer Industries. At the time of his death he was the Human Resources Director for Brooks Auto Parts in Douglas, Georgia. Tim has lived in Westgreen, Georgia; Reidsville, North Carolina; Rancho Palos Verdes, California; and Crossville, Tennessee. He leaves many friends in all of these towns. Tim enjoyed and loved his dog, Boy. He liked to travel and he loved his annual week at Tybee Island. He enjoyed horseback-riding and has owned several horses over his lifetime. But mostly, Tim enjoyed people and he never met a stranger! Tim was a faithful and active member of Lone Hill United Methodist Church and Sunday school teacher. Tim saw only the good in people and was a true optimist at heart. He was a selfless and giving person and stories abound for the many generous things he has done for so many people in need. Tim is survived by his mother, Joyce Satterfeld Suttles, his brothers; Dan Suttles, Ken Suttles and Vic Suttles and his wife Rose. Nieces; Autumn Phillips and her husband Chuck, Ashle Vickers and her husband Chris, and Victoria Suttles. Nephews; Dallas Suttles and his wife Lisa, Zac Suttles and his wife Rachel, and Alex Suttles and his wife Kaycee. Tim is also survived by several grandnephews and grandnieces and a large extended family that includes his friends. Tim was preceeded in death by his father who died on December 12th, 1996. A memorial service will be held at Lone Hill United Methodist Church at two o'clock on Thursday, December 12th. Visitation will follow the memorial service at the church. Tim would have appreciated an offering to Lone Hill United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice instead of flowers. Ricketson Funeral Home of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
