Martha Trellis Rowell Moore

Martha Trellis Rowell Moore, age 80, resident of Coffee County, passed away peacefully at her home in Douglas, Georgia, May 26, 2025. Trellis, as she was lovingly known, will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jimmy S. Moore. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Trellis leaves behind her two devoted sons and daughters-in-love, Stan & Dawn Moore and Keith & Dawn Moore, all of Douglas, Georgia. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life: Haley (Brad) Foster, Jacob (Aly) Moore, Kalani Moore, Briana (Ryan) Lewis, and Matthew Moore. Trellis was also the proud great-grandmama to Banks and Livi Kate Foster, Samuel and Naomi Moore, and Avaleigh, Carter, and Claire Lewis. Trellis was preceded in death by her parents, Ivey Jack and Lola Belle Lewis Rowell, as well as siblings Carlton, Hilton, and Wilton Rowell, Helen McKinnon and Marguerite Vickers. She is survived by her brother Roger (Marilyn) Rowell of the Jacksonville, FL area; her sisters Jeannie Cronin and Ronnie Morgan of the Savannah, GA area and Evelyn (Steve) Kroke of East Grand Forks, MN. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Trellis, though petite in frame, had a heart that was immeasurable in size. She retired as a State of Georgia Department of Agriculture Poultry Inspector, dedicating her career to ensuring quality and safety in her work. In her retirement, she found purpose and fulfillment volunteering and working part-time at Coffee Regional Medical Center, where her compassion, kindness and dedication touched many lives. Above all, Trellis's greatest pride and joy was her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her treasures, and they will forever remember her boundless love and gentle encouragement. Trellis was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Mission with her husband. Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with memorialization by cremation. A private, family-only service is planned.
