Johnny Allen Vickers

Mr. Johnny Allen Vickers, age 79, of Douglas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Savannah Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Vickers was born on September 10, 1943. The family will receive friends Friday, March 24, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Ricketson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Ricketson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Powell and Reverend Heath Wingard officiating. Interment will follow at the Douglas City Cemetry. For more than thirty-six years, Mr. Vickers was a dedicated employee from the telephone industry including General Telephone, Alltel and Windstream. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather whose favorite pastime was spending time with his large family. He was a member of The Sanctuary Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Brantley Vickers, six children, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Children and Grandchildren: Son: Jason Ashley Vickers and wife Selena. Grandchildren: Megan Vickers Newton (Derrick), Amber Vickers and Katherine Vickers and great grandchild, Blair Newton. Daughter: Wendy Wooten Jowers and husband, Jim. Grandchildren: Madison Jowers and Collin Jowers. Daughter: Carrie Vickers Hull and husband, Allen. Grandchildren: Chloe Hull and Ellie Hull Daughter: Holly Wooten Jordan and husband, Shane. Grandchildren: Andrew Jordan and Kate Jordan. Daughter: Amy Wooten Vining and husband, Brian. Grandchildren: Gant Vining and Gabe Vining Son: Jay Allen Vickers and wife, Ashley. Grandchildren: David Allen Vickers and Julie Vickers Two Sisters: Debbie (Jerry) Sutton and Kathy Vickers. Sister-in-law: Patsy Moore Mr. Vickers is also survived by a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. O. Vickers and Ruth Russ Vickers; wife of thirteen years, Patricia Manley Vickers, mother-in-law, Jean Hursey, and brother-in-law, Keith Moore.
