Johnny Buck Caves

Mr. Johnny Buck Caves, age 84, of West Green, Georgia, passed away Wednesday morning, July 08, 2026, at Vista Park surrounded by his loved ones. Johnny was born January 18, 1942, in Hazelhurst, Georgia, to the late Tommie “Buck” Eldridge Caves and the late Mary Algerine Hester Prescott Caves. He was a devoted father and husband to his wife of 65 years Shirley Stone Caves. He was a retired truck driver for Hercules Stump Removal. He loved to spend time with his family every chance he had. Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, gardening, and being a mechanic. On his quite days he would love to sit and read different books, including his Bible. Along with his parents, Mr. Caves was preceded in death by his grandchild: Keegan Lee Caves, and second mother, Estelle Caves. Johnny leaves a legacy of devoted family members including his wife of 65 years, Shirley Stone Caves of West Green, Georgia; three children: Johnny Lamar (Annie) of West green, Georgia, Gregory Lee Caves of Alma, Georgia, Sherry Lynn Clark (James) of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren: Chrystal Taylor (Will) of Graniteville, South Carolina, Bryan Keith Caves (Becky) of Willow Springs, North Carolina, Timothy Lamar Caves (Beth) of Smithville, North Carolina, Michael Harland Taylor of Rota, Spain, Kaci Leigh Caves of Fitgerald, Georgia, Danielle Jean Caves of Alma, Georgia; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Wiley Caves (Gloria) of Broxton Georgia; three sisters: Melcene Beasley (Tommy) of Broxton, Georgia, Paula Caves Anderson of Lumber City, Georgia, and Mary Faye Caneva (Johnny) of Jacksonville, Florida; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Johnny’s funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Full Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 10:00 AM, at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will include James King, Brandon Caves, Corey Caves, Benjamin Berdges, Jonathan Hulett, and Caden Cater.
