Hugh Jerome Hinson

Rev. Hugh Jerome Hinson, age 60, of Ambrose passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2016, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, following injuries received in an earlier auto accident. He was born August 9, 1955 and was reared by his grandparents, the late Dewey Hinson and the late Stella Carver Hinson. Rev. Hinson, a native of Coffee County, was a Licensed Minister in the Calvary Holiness Church. He was also a mechanic and farmer of the Ambrose Community. During his ministry, he had preached throughout South Georgia. He had also been a School Bus Driver for the Coffee County School System. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Jerri Kay Jowers Morgan. Rev. Hinson was a member of the Stone’s Chapel Church. Survivors include: His Wife: Sarah Spivey Hinson of Ambrose, Ga.; 2 Daughters: Candace (David) Vickers of Ambrose, Ga., and Andrea (Josh) Anderson of Douglas, Ga.; 3 Grandchildren: Waylon Vickers, Weston Vickers, and Rowan Vickers, all of Ambrose, Ga.; 1 Sister: Sherry (Gene) Haskins of Douglas, Ga.; 2 Uncles: Ray (Bonnie) Jowers, and Ralph Jowers, all of Broxton, Ga.; Special Friend: Jesse Gonzales of Glennville, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 2:00 P. M., at the Stone’s Chapel Church, with Rev. Mark Jordan, Rev. Edison Taft and Rev. Tim Mock officiating. The Interment followed in the Bethany Cemetery, with Rev. Vernon Hughes conducting the Committal Services. Active Pallbearers were: Buddy Gilliard, Dobbie Cothern, David Yawn, Tommy Shrouder, Ted O’Steen, Shane Sloan, Mickey Jowers and Alford McIver. Honorary Pallbearers were: Ministers and their companions, Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Doyle Wooten, Deputy Joe White, David & Patty Spivey, Dan O’Steen, Scott Day, Curtis Newell, Donald Newell and Dr. Steve Anderson. Special Musical Selections, “That Is Where I Want To Go”, was presented by the Soloist, Connie Bowen, with Bonnie Musgove, at the Piano, “If We Never Meet Again”, was rendered by Venese Musgrove and Brandon Musgrove, with Bonnie Musgrove, at the Piano, and “Where We Never Grow Old”, was presented by the Soloist, Denvelle Hall leading the Congregation, with Bonnie Musgrove, at the Piano. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude”, soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Bonnie Musgrove. At the Graveside, “Amazing Grace” was rendered by Denvelle Hall leading the Congregation. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
