Billy Cecil Kimbrell

Mr. Billy Cecil Kimbrell, age 77 of Fitzgerald, GA passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Kimbrell was born March 7, 1941 to the late Joseph Benjamin Kimbrell and the late Alma Lee Barrentine Kimbrell. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his Step-father; Obide Morris Alexander, and 1 Sister; Gwennell Walsh. Mr. Kimbrell, a native of Irwin County, GA, retired after 35 years of service as a lineman with Georgia Power. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. Mr. Kimbrell attended New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church. Survivors include: His Wife: Myrtle Ione Threatt Kimbrell of Fitzgerald, GA 4 Children: James Wesley Kimbrell and his wife Wanda of Fitzgerald, GA David Wayne Kimbrell and his wife Stephanie of Tifton, GA Joel Stephen Kimbrell and his wife Christy of Fitzgerald, GA Kelly Michelle Padgett and her husband Zack of McRae, GA 3 Brothers: Jack Kimbrell of Fitzgerald, GA; Carl Kimbrell of Pinetta, FL and James Henry Alexander of Richmond Hill, GA 11 Grandchildren: Cara Kimbrell, Jake Kimbrell, Abby Padgett, Austin Kimbrell, Hannah Padgett, Claire Kimbrell, Tanner Padgett, Anna Kate Kimbrell, Josh Kimbrell, Jordan Kimbrell and Madison Kimbrell. Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of Friends The funeral service was held Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church in Ben Hill County with Rev. Jody Silvers, Rev. Vernon Hughes and Rev. Joey Dean officiating. A special prayer was given by a grandson, Jake Kimbrell. The interment followed in New Corinth Cemetery with Military Rites, including Flag Detail and Taps being furnished by Personnel from Ft. Stewart Army Base in Hinesville, GA, Active Pallbearers were: Jake Kimbrell, Austin Kimbrell, Tanner Kimbrell, Josh Kimbrell, Jordan Kimbrell and Logan Walker. Honorary Pallbearers were: Edd Smith, W. L. Smith, Stanford Day, Newton Sellers, James Griffin, Junior Pridgen, Gene Cannon, John Long, Pete Spell, Pat Hodnett, Eddie Smith, Randall Smith, Larry Crosby, Glenn Taylor, Jason Griffin and Seaburn Craven. Special Musical Selections, “Daddy’s Home”, “Heaven is Sweeter for You” and “Celebrate Me Home” were rendered by Ronnie Day and Ellie Hoopiiania with Selena Day at the piano, and “What a Day That Will Be” was rendered by Sandra Sellers at the piano. At the Graveside, “I Will Meet You in the Morning” was presented by Guitarist, Nelson Franklin and Jennifer Franklin. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
